Ahoy chaps! I'm shopping for a new monitor, thought I'd go ultra-wide so I can have all my toolbars open and keep my laptop screen for email/browser/skype etc.

Any thoughts and/or experiences? I saw one review that said that for creative work it's definitely better not to get a curved screen, which makes a whole lot of sense... straight lines becoming curved etc would make everything look a little out of whack.

Tempted by the LG 34WN650-W it's pretty inexpensive.
1080p which means I'll see what the clients see. High resolution screens are great for me, but if designs look great on my screen but shitty on client side, what's the point?

The 34WN750-W is 1440p and €100 more. Worth the extra?

    • I can't imagine a 34" monitor that is 1080p (I can't imagine working at such a low res, seems like that would defeat the purpose of a large screen)formed
    • I use Dell's 32" Ultrasharp https://www.dell.com…formed
    • LG 34WN650-W color sucks, I know because im on one now, when I need color I have to move shit to one of my other 3 monitorsmoldero
    • what formed said ... 1080p on anything larger than 13" is going to look bad. At 27" or higher it's full 4K res or nothingmonospaced
    • I have a 27" Dell UltraSharp that feels like an extension of the MBP screen. It is also USB-C, so it charges my Mac and is a USB hub too.monospaced
    • Dell 27" Ultrasharp as main and a 21" for docs, social or mail, side by side. Now I've got a 24" instead of the 21", but very happy with the setup.OBBTKN
    • ^ for print stuff, it's worth having a good monitor. But for digital, why have an amazing screen if everyone else is on shitty screens?...Projectile
    • ....My colleagues are always submitting stuff with illegibly small type and dull colours, because they're on 27" retina Mac screens!Projectile
    • @Projectile, most people use phones, which have amazing screens. Gotta design for the best, not the worst.monospaced
    • 27" Dell Ultrasharp as well, but god it must be 10 years old or more at this point.ben_
    • I am a huge fan of the Dell Ultrasharp line. Those are the only monitors I trust. I currently have the 34" curved. The curve felt weird for 5 minutes, but...nocomply
    • ...after that I didn't notice it. I don't do print work so color accuracy isn't super important to me. But the clarity is great.nocomply
    • DELL U2720Q Display too. Love it.thumb_screws
    • U2720Q calibrated with i1pro. After a month a vertical green line appeared when I cleaned it, which suggests that the assembly is not the best.isaca
