Clients reached a whole new level of stupid a few days ago.

Video guy in our team makes a video. Adds a soundtrack, and of course times every cut in the entire video to said soundtrack.

Client 1: Awesome! I love this song, it's XXX by the Killers.

Client 2: Ooh the Killers? that sounds a bit ominous! Maybe we shouldn't use a band with such a scary name! Can you please use another song? k thx

Not the lyrics of the song. Not the song name. The name of the fucking band, which isn't credited, so only those who know the song well will know.

    Jesus

    Hannibal

    Christ

    • maybe run the track by the client first before doing the end (and make sure client runs it by their stakeholders).shapesalad
    • Did a TV commercial once, we spent 1 day filming, a few days editing, about 3 weeks to choose the "right mood music"...grafician
    • It's like dealing with children. Explain the entire process slowly, twice, before starting. Then reiterate why such changes will be billed when requested.monoboy
    • They all think changes are trivial.monoboy
    • I once went through 36 drafts of a single document once. Reluctantly, but happy in the knowledge that each draft was paid for.monoboy
    • You cut an entire video to a single track only without client approval or presenting options?zarkonite
    • Could it have been avoided by getting pre-approval on the song / a rough cut, etc?mantrakid
    • I struggle with the same things, too. There’s no way you can educate or convince a client. You just need to breathe in and accept it.SimonFFM
    • Aghh! I feel you, bromaquito
