Quite happy with our setup:
- We've got a thermo carafe version, it's great.ben_
- I personally wanted the thermal carafe version, but my wife wanted this one. The "rolling" heating element actually does a great job of not burning the coffee.bulletfactory

- Yeah the one you have is nicer looking (not saying that's why your wife wanted it :) ) I actually got the thermal one from an amazon returns auction for $95.ben_
- I have that Baratza Encore and it's a really nice addition to my french press carafe. But it's horribly loud and costs way more than it feels.MrAbominable
- I do love this coffee maker. Not sure if it's in my head, but it makes really smooth tasting coffee... Probably because it doesn't get burnt. Highly recommend!bulletfactory
