The Avett Brothers canceled their sold-out show at the McMenamins Edgefield in Troutdale, Oregon on Saturday night after a armed man entered the venue. According to a statement on the band’s website, a man was found to be carrying a gun while he was passing through the metal detector. After a security officer notified the man of the venue’s no-firearm policy, the man claimed that he was an “out-of-state police officer” and showed an alleged badge. The man was then told to wait while security confirmed his identity, but he disregarded the instructions and slipped into the venue.
