Listening to pirate radio, happy hardcore, hardcore, rave etc...

And being in awe of Amiga Demos:

Then this came out an raised the level even further:

I remember those music ripper softwares - you watch the demo, restart the Amiga, swap floppy disks to the ripper hex viewing software, and due to the demo remaining on the ram chips, you could then use the ripper to extract the music file. Then use Protracker to play it and try to use the samples to create your own music.

That was my teenage years well spent then....

    • < No wonder I never had a girlfriend in my teen years.shapesalad
    • ^ (made up for it later in life by dating an ex bikini model/signapore airlines flight attendant, and then an actual proper Japanese cosmetics/ tv ad model)shapesalad

    • I only wish diskettes had a better shelf life - all mine have been unreadable for years now - so much shit teen output, lost.detritus
    • ^ I had a hit of nostalgia in my mid 20's and bought an amiga500 off eBay. Then felt like a complete dork and sold it a week later.shapesalad
    • ^ even by then my disks were pretty much corrupt and unreadable.shapesalad
    • My A500 is long gone, but I still have my A1200 at the folks' - it had a [20Mb!!] HD, which sitll works but contains barely anything I madedetritus
    • ^ middle class eh?shapesalad
    • ;-)shapesalad
    • The A500 was outright gifted as I conned my Dad into thinking it'd be good for my education. A1200 was paid half and half.
      But, perhaps.

    • There were lots of things I never had, but my Dad was always keen to keep me in computers, oddly. He bought me an Acorn Electron when I was 7 or so...detritus
    • ..which when I think about it now, was really odd. Less middle class than "ex-pat worked who his arse off so I could have a better upbringing than he did"detritus
    • "who worked" ffs.detritus
    • Whe I got the Acorn he'd spent 2 years in the Falklands working on the new airport after the war. Because of him, I can perhaps now bullshit middle class.detritus
