Japanese company makes TV apology on behalf of worker who left his desk for just THREE MINUTES each day to buy his lunch - as the country's grueling work culture is called into question
A 64-year-old male worker at the Kobe City Waterworks Bureau took the break

He took a total of 26 three-minute trips to a nearby store over seven months.

Representatives at the company apologised to customers over the 'scandal'.

They also docked the worker a half-day's pay for wasting the company's time.

According to his superiors the man was leaving the office for a 'change of pace'.
