"I've worked in VFX for 30+ years. The industry has changed radically, so we can now do more and are expected to do more, for less!

Some blame out sourcing as a race to the bottom, but the reality is that the overuse of VFX shots and lack of planning, understanding and respect for the Art of VFX, causes most of the problems.

I've basically quit the industry because recently the job offers are paying 1/8th the amount I got when I got out of school, which was then just a livable wage.

Effects artist can NOT produce or care to produce good work when asked to do 20 shots a day, just for the honour of working on yet another stupid super hero movie and are basically working for below minimum wage!

Respect and a fair wage is the only way to fix this.
Rant over, go back to your comfortable lives! - end of line. Hahaha!" - https://www.spot.im/s/00SdjljcSD…
