Can't really prep for this except for the team. They give you a genre, character, line of dialogue and prop upon kick off. It ruins from 7pm Friday to 7pm Sunday.
My 2nd and 3rd level UCB writing crew is down to come kill a script. I want to line produce. I have access to some interesting sets if they make sense. And I can sew, fabricate on the art dept side. I a pinch i can animate, render or sound mix.
It all goes so fast. If you can lock the script the Friday night as well as start title cards, cast, scour for sounds that might work for sound design, and lock down all locations, locate/pick up costume, and knock out a shot list for sat, were in good shape.
Sat usually is all day/ night shoots, edit and post throughout the night.
Edits and renders Sunday, turning it in before or at 7pm latest. Screening and winners Sunday night.
No sleep but fun and kind of a rush and a fun off topic piece to show clients if its good or wins awards.
