Always makes me LOL that everyone goes mad that a free service that a lot of people base entire careers around, actually makes money from their commodity (people). The data leak is a fuck up, yes, but the notion that consumer profiling and sharing from brands is something new is ridiculous. We give them all our secrets and conversations without question, never reading the terms and conditions of anything. Not saying its right but i'm not surprised by any means.

Also, hackers gonna hack. No matter how strong the vault is, there's always someone ready to go in.

    • Well, being shocked is one thing. Being outraged and demanding shit like that doesn't happen in the future is another.set
    • but yes, if you're sharing information on facebook that you're worried about being shared and sold, you're a fucking idiot.set

    • I'm a little irked that FB make money from me, tracking me and creating a consumer profile as they likely have, given that I don't have an FB account.detritus
    • I'm a little irked that my details, including phone number and social map, are cross-correlated with all my friends on FB and WhatsApp, when I use neither.detritus
    • the fun part didn't start yet...when all the leaked data goes public, even if by then it's a 3-5 year old datasetuan
