For my personal portfolio I've never used any H1, or P or any of those antiquated HTML things. Just div or spans rarely. File names, css classes etc all used random arbitrary names. My site url is my name, which I share with an average famous ish footballer. My site comes up 8 in the google search results after some wiki and news about said footballer. I put a few key words in a meta tag, but that's as far as my SEO went. Seems not really doing any specific seo works out fine.
- I'm guessing if I didn't share my name with a footballer I'd be ranking #1 in the results.shapesalad
- of course if you search design related words I'm probably result number 934,500...shapesalad
