Ok so after posting that nonsense about my girlfriend leaving the country and not feeling any emotion towards it. 3 weeks in and I'm a gibbering, often crying, mess that misses my lovely girlfriend more than anything in the world. She's travelling through Asia at the moment before settling in Germany, so can't even talk to her due to no Wi-Fi. Long distance relationship doesn't really seem appealing but I do love that special little fucker so much.

Rip away lads. Rip away. I'm a sad, lonely cunt.

    • sorry man :(moldero
    • sorry to hear that, genuinely. if you a fancy a pint soon I am in London a fair bit. I doubt I would cheer you up though haha. It willfadein11
    • Yaaay!detritus

    • Thanks moldy and fadein. I'd love to have a pint with you mate. Would be odd but I'm sure we'd get on pretty well in 3Dset

    • Sorry set. Just give a try to the long distance relationship, it can't be much worse than what you're going trough now, no?dyspl
    • feelsApeRobot
    • Detritus your comment genuinely made me do a lolset
    • Fair point dyspl but I'm thinking maybe just letting her go and moving on might be a better option for my sanity. We shall have to see.set
    • Good, that was the aim! :)

(My non-smiley was supposed to come straight after my post - wasn't a response)

    • We've agreed that no matter what happens we'll stay best friends forever. She does want to come back, and will, in two and a half years. Long time though....set
    • A lot can happen in almost 3 years. Big part of me just thinks why waste our time when almost inevitably one of us will meet someone elseset
    • For a second fadein, I thought you said 'It will get easier (cliche I know). Or you can reconsider and join the Army'set
    • haha - I bet you thought what a cunt lolfadein11
    • I dunno - it took me fucking years to find 'my best friend' as a partner. Pussy's easy to find, a soulmate not necessarily.detritus
    • I mean, I assume you're, like me, about as much a cunt IRL - so she must be pretty spesh!detritus

    • I would say I'm about 25% the cunt in real life than I am here, to be fair, and only to other cunts.set
    • But yes, very true detset
    • Quit the job, sell the assets, buy the flight and go join her in Asia! Life is freaking short, take a risk. Then figure it out in Germany when you get there.shapesalad
    • Gnash, sounds like you're trying to convey instructions to fix the starship enterprise.set
    • And propose when you meet her in Asia. What woman isn't going to love you for doing that crazy shit.shapesalad
    • @set sorry to hear, dude. Stay strong!chukkaphob

    • I'd buy you a pint as well if you make it up to town.mugwart
    • love is pretty special. Be honest with her, even if email and tell her your feelings. If they are matched one of you might have to give to locations -- or trymugwart

    • If you set up a healthy routine it is possible to make it work. 3 years isnt that long (I am a dad though). If your able to fly back UK for the occasional meetmugwart
    • and greet then I'm sure its totally possible.mugwart
    • I can only talk from my personal experience, and it wasn't good. Up to you if you want to spend all that time, energy and money trying to make a LDR work.Maaku
    • well, at least you're not a psychopath ;)monospaced
    • ^^ depends on the relationship. I'm not living with my LDR. Was hard work but it was worth it.mugwart
    • ^ Yup, which is why I said I could only speak for myself.Maaku
    • ^ just wanted to be a bit positive! I'm a romantic!mugwart

    • Well I've spent the last three years creating a life here in Brighton. I only just finally have a solid group of friends and good connections. It's an amazing..set
    • ...place. I have no interest in starting all that over again any time soon. Certainly not somewhere that I can't even speak their language..set
    • I'll toying with the idea of going to india for a month with her but that won't be for two months, and I'm thinking by then I'll have dealt with all the emotionset
    • and going over there, once I'm back in Brighton after that I'll be back to square one, where I am now. Not sure that's the best idea, but we'll see.set
    • Really appreciate all of the advice :)set
    • If it's true love, all that you've built as your comfort zone is (or will become) irrelevant, weak, meaningless, powerless ....in the face of true love.chukkaphob
    • I saw somewhere on Tumblr a quote "the magic happens outside your comfort zone" ;-) not sure if that's true, but makes you think...... WHAT IF!chukkaphob
    • I think it's great that you know the person that makes you feel on a level like this. It's so easy to say "follow your heart," but it's not always that simple.monospaced
    • The best to you both, I want nothing more than for you to end up together, happy.monospaced
    • you'll plow through it set. takes time. find something that fills your heart and mind. xosea_sea
    • That sucks man, give it time and I would say bang a ton of chicks.eryx

    • Brighton ain't no reason to lose a woman. Get off the sofa, get out there, travel with her, and figure it out in Germany. If it doesn't work out...shapesalad
    • ... you got mates in Brighton that can help you get settled again.shapesalad
    • Have some adventure and show her you're a freaking cool man who has big balls and is committed to her. Then she'll treat you well.shapesalad
