Smh it seems so unsafe to send kids to public schools in the US. Are the partents here worried? editorially ones that aren't school age yet.

Will you make changes to your school plan? Are you going to train your kids at home about how to handle an active shooter situations, other weapons, and about harder drugs earlier on? I'm curious -- I do not have children but I often think about what I might do if I did. I think also about how I might handle the topic of police, because my future children would be unmistakably black which adds another layer of danger when out in the streets.#itscomplicated

    • I think most High Schools do practice active shooter drills these days.fooler
    • ^ seems like kids need to be taught day 1 of school, sometimes before. Scared, lost children that don't know what to do are in tons of danger seems like.shellie
    • I never paid much attention to drills I always felt like it was for the teachers. My emergency training came from mom and firefighter family members.shellie
    • Horrified as the problem will not end. The gun lobby will never cave. I'm looking into moving to Japan to raise my boys.stoplying
