    Things to do...

Kaya toast for breakfast, google will help you find the original ones, but even Toast Box chain is good.

Botanical gardens if you like tropical plants, but avoid middle of the day it gets super hot.

Cocktail at Raffles, old colonial outpost, you throw the peanut shells on the floor. Bit of a dorky business man type of place, but if it's your first time it's good to tick it off the list and get a feel for the old colonial era.

Coffee/chill time at Tiong Bahru Bakery cafe, in Tiong Bahru neighbourhood. You can wander around the neighbourhood, couple of arty/design things around there.

also "Chye Seng Huat Hardware" is a good cafe: http://www.cshhcoffee.com

A jog along east coast park in the evening could be a good alternative to drinking.

Tonnes of great eats in Singapore for all budget ranges.

Song Fa Bak Kut Teh 11 New Bridge Road - is good for it's pork ribs in broth.

If you're interested in the history of Singapore, this extensive podcast series is excellent: http://thehistoryofsingapore.com…
