A father with a licensed handgun fatally shot an armed robber who threatened him and his family at a Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen in San Antonio, Texas.

    • THATS WHY EVERYONE NEED A GUN!!!!!!!!1!!Bennn
    • the robber had already let them gomonospaced
    • Guess he didn't like the cornbread either.face_melter
    • Herrera then pointed the gun at two of Molina’s children as they walked out of a restroom. How is that "letting them go?"GM278
    • Benn, not the point I'm making at all.GM278
    • lol I know, Its a jokeBennn
    • I don't now GM278. The report says they were on the way out. He could have been just pointing with his gun as he was threatening to kill the kids that moment.monospaced
    • I wasn't there either but shooting someone who is pointing a firearm at children even if just as a threat to kill them is justifiable.GM278
    • Doe it matter if you know the motive of the gun weilder? Walmart wannabe heros carrying guns scare me more than any criminal, formed
    • do I get to shoot the soccer mom if she pulls her concealed carry out and aims it someone, accidentally, that she things is a criminal, but I know they aren't?formed
    • I'm not trying to say it wasn't justified.monospaced
    • I'm simply entertaining the idea that perhaps nobody could have died had there been fewer guns in the situation.monospaced
    • In the US, there are strict rules for "wielding" or drawing a gun. You can't just pull your gun for any criminal offense.GM278
    • It needs to be a situation where you or your loved ones lives are in imminent danger. For example...criminal steals your car can you shoot? NO.GM278
    • Unless you're a cop, apparently.monospaced
    • Criminal tries to pull you out of your car and carjack you (where you might get shot) YESGM278
    • @Formed so if you're in wallmart and someone has a gun drawn at you. Yes you can shoot. That person cant just draw on ppl.GM278
    • nobody's arguing against that, GM, it's a tragic situation and he was probably within his rights to shoot and kill that guy for the threats received/perceivedmonospaced
    • @mono...if there were no guns in that situation (or if the criminal didn't have a gun) then not only would it have been differentGM278
    • but the father would not only have not been justified in use of lethal force but he'd have been tried for murderGM278
    • once again, nobody's arguing that, least of all memonospaced
    • if that father didn't have a gun, or decided not to use it, there's a chance nobody would have died, that's all I'm saying, and it's also truemonospaced
    • @mono I was elaborating on formed's Walmart soccer mom scenarioGM278
    • @mono yes that is also true.GM278
    • I wonder how much the guy expected to get from the heist of the century? Must have been pretty desperate.PhanLo
    • Yes, when he decided to "come see what's pop'n" at Popeyes it was apparently a well placed round.GM278
    • Americans seem to need guns, because the society is sick and imbalanced.
The guns won't ever go away, because the society won't change. Seems fine.
      PhanLo
    • @GM278 he won't be poppin' by anytime soon that's for sure.PhanLo
