The part I take issue with is:

    - The authorities?
    - What authorities?
    - Should we have called the police?
    - And said what?

    How about;
    1. Yes
    2. Screen actors Guild. Any other authority that had an ear.
    3. Yes
    4. "I was assaulted by Harvey Weinstein".

I don't want to individually victim blame...but as a collective, the only way for arseholes like Weinstein to be brought to account is to prosecute against him. And the only way that can be done is for victims to speak out.

Very easy for me to say...and that places an incredible burden and responsibility on victims of this prick. But what other choice is there? Unless victims speak out, this shit will just go on and on and on.

    • Couldn't agree more. I tend to think that most folks feared for their careers and were therefore cowards (the ones privy to HW's actions... not the victims)PonyBoy
    • < he seemed to address all those pointsGnash
    • IMO, I believe around 30 women have come forward, but 300+ fell for him for his money, influence... This could be mild compared to when HW pedos are outed!robotron3k
    • I was talking about those that knew but weren't victims, Gnash...seems Buster wants to the victims to speak up (he's right to) but what about all the 'dudes'...PonyBoy
    • ...HW hung w/that mUST'VE been privy to what kind of foul shit he was up to but said nothing. Cowards.PonyBoy
    • *Buster wants FOR the victims to speak upPonyBoy
    • And I have to emphasise, it's really easy for me to say "victims need to speak out". Must be incredibly difficult, especially being the first, with all theBusterBoy
    • hate & recriminations that no doubt follow. But something needs to be done to break the cycle.BusterBoy
    • And men need to step up more too. If men knew about all this shit, it's pissweak to not do or say anything.BusterBoy
    • It's a bit round-about, but a friends knows someone who works at the Weinstein Company...IRNlun6
    • ... When the company was talking to it's employees, a main point of concern was what if he showed up? Many where physically afraid of the guy.IRNlun6
    • Not in a 'destroy your career' king of way, but a 'will make you disappear' kind of way.IRNlun6
