When lawmakers in the lower chamber of New York's General Assembly voted for a single-payer health care proposal in mid-May, they waved off concerns about how to pay for it. Lawmakers in the California Senate did the same, voting in early June for a single-payer plan without first conducting a full-fledged analysis of how much it would cost.

Scary how many ppl disregard costs for there persona ideology. And what bugs me most is Sanders is advocating finally for medicare for all which he said would bankrupt the nation. These stupid politicians need to be put in check when voting. They are recklessly pushing policy they don't even believe in for political gain. Not that it is uncommmon. But hopefully common sense prevails

    • The U.S. already has the most costly health care in the world with a privatized system. How do you explain that?yuekit
    • https://i.pinimg.com…yuekit
    • privatized isnt free market ukit.deathboy
    • still dealing with fallout of ww2 tax regulations giving shitty incentives that do nothing for costsdeathboy
    • i have joked wether single payer supporters who finger other countries programs as great would like to see the largest gdp spending on a small demographic opendeathboy
    • to the full public. we spend more on medicare alone than most countries for full blown single payerdeathboy
    • opening it to everyone doesn't decrease costs. it increases rationing. spending even MORE doesnt make it "good"deathboy
    • like u said ukit most people are stupid and should probably not be involved in decision makingdeathboy
    • and i have to ask u ukit do you feel qualified to decide on such thing knowing your lack of knowledge of the reasons of such financial figures?deathboy
    • or would u fall more into the category of ignorant voter who feels like they deserve a say?deathboy
    • even i dont know the lengths of oversight and corruption in the legal system. i doubt any one does. that is the area of capitalismdeathboy
    • a democratic rule of price discovery. healthcare has not seen such a thign except in eye surgery and breast augemtation which has been quite successfuldeathboy
    • look at the cost of an appendectomy 30 yrs ago vs now and u see the procedure hasnt changed but the cost has. can u explain why?deathboy
    • 600 vs 200K... clearly someone in the market is paying too high of a costdeathboy
    • look at healthcare spending before medicare/medicaid. u will see those instiutions along with employer based drive costs higherdeathboy
    • we can do what what bernie plans on canada levels and open medicare to all while decreasing funding from near 20 to 10% GDPdeathboy
    • meaning more people on the plan with less funds. to match other countries. How do u think that will work out?deathboy
    • it pains me that i feel like i know so little and so many other feel so right in there complete lack or willingly lack of knowledge or comprehensiondeathboy
    • I really enjoy your rants to yourself.fadein11
    • fadein im happy they entertain you, but look past that and learn something from themdeathboy
    • or even try to frame a reasonable rebuttal fadein. if you can't it stands. u might need to accept what you want is a fiction being peddled no different thandeathboy
    • the stuff religion peddles. u follow anyone on a pedestal that plays to your greed.deathboy
    • Another thing to ask is what do I have to gain from my POV? If i have no inherent reward where does my MO lie? Ive said where my MO lies but doubt ever hearddeathboy
    • where as your MO or others is easy to see. i get why u disregard reason for the gains you think u might get. greed is a funny thing wallstreet or notdeathboy
    • fade can u explain why healthcare costs are high in the US? Maybe i shouldn't explain, i should ask for explanations. helps those actively find the reasonsdeathboy
