There is a special needs employee at my local deli who handles seafood. His name is Buddy. He is an awesome person. Simply awesome. I call in orders all the time. I order salmon and always take his suggestion for the day regarding seasoning. He is always saying things like "this is heaven" "you'll absolutely love this" or when you're done ordering, the way he says "ah, that's gonna be sweet, anything else?" makes me think my boring repetitive order is actually pretty sweet and he would do anything else for me if I asked. He never recognizes me on the phone but he always recognizes me when I go to pick up my food. He's probably the best person I've met in the last 5 years. A tear comes to my eye just appreciating that guy.

    • ^ lolwot?Continuity
    • deathboy‚ let me help you as you obviously are special yourself (but not like buddy... but in an asshole way). Buddy has a life and is loved—and loves—ujealous?PonyBoy

    • I'm waiting for a QBN twist to this story...
Like he was fired five years back for being improper with salami, but forces his way in to make sandwiches each day
      futurefood
    • post was emo attention seeking? what is the value you are upvoting? special? servitude? simpleton? that makes you feel good?deathboy
    • to me its just BS emo hi five progressive bullshit that is self serving misdirection in recognizing a special person doing a "job." hell i love to anyone doingdeathboy
    • there job well. but if i type that it doesnt get the same response. jeez pony i thought u of all ppl catch on to that pity shitdeathboy
    • and i expected better from imbecile. maybe it did make u feel good, but please dont share that garbage. all u do is put me in a position to check itdeathboy
    • and promotes the whole online self serving im a good person logical fallacy crap. ruins culturesdeathboy
    • So what's the answer? Don't recognize the guy doing the job? Don't acknowledge that he makes you feel happy?Gucci
    • Buddy probably loves his job, loves feeling included and valuable. Mostly, that's what ppl with intellectual disabilities want.Gucci
    • recognize what it is that makes u feel good. understanding it. it really seems like simply retard + good feels = likes formuladeathboy
    • today i saw a person happy at that job and it made me happy. i think the difference is obvious when phrased and what details are of focus for intentdeathboy
    • i dont like to be the guy to call call bullshit, i actually hate attention and hope someone does it before me so i dont have to. but im calling it as it isdeathboy
    • unless its a jealousy monologue of i felt happy seeing simple jack enjoy his job so easily while i struggle everyday at mine because im smarterdeathboy
    • and i wish i could take in some ignorance is bliss and just like what i do. albeit giving up other things like getting laid and possibly not shitting oneself.deathboy
    • if that was imbecile intent than ok. it wasnt clear, but also wasn't fair just looking at only the advantages of simpletons. and if that is what people supportedeathboy
    • d so be it. fuck u guys are weirddeathboy
    • ^ LOL, wow. Someone's got some pretty pronounced daddy issues.Continuity
    • Thanks for sharing, great storymartinadolfsson
    • death... the story I read wasn't a pity story but one that tells me if someone whose lot in life is far more fucked than mine is still this kind and loving a...PonyBoy
    • ... person that perhaps a touch of self reflection on my part for my trivial complaints / worries and angsts in life might be in order.PonyBoy
    • damn deathboy, people don't post for the likes ... this is also the BLOG threadmonospaced
    • hmm well it read like i love their servitude to me pony. and loving an kind is expected from the "special" as a standard. they know no better. i hope it wasdeathboy
    • a quality of work thing. and mono you are funny to say ppl dont post for likes. continuity where is your argument? The daddy seems to say more about u than medeathboy
    • in the context.really what would be great if imbecile clarified what made him feel good. just guessing at poor communicationdeathboy
    • I'm not being funny. This is the blog, where people post random things, like a diary. It made him happy to see a happy person! What's so confusing about that?monospaced
    • This story made my daygrotesk_neue
    • deathboy missed the point and went full steam at it haha. Feel better now buddy? That's what this is all about after allset
    • well mono if that was the case why not phrase it that way? bc that is not the case. duh. set i dont think mi missed the point. i think too many ppl letting thedeathboy
    • point go out of fear of being the "me." this case is too simple not to point out. clearly imbecile could state simply what he valued and was tryin to communicadeathboy
    • te. i think we all know exactly what he was trying to communicate and are ignoring or more scary scenario is most dont know...deathboy
    • fuck me maybe that is the truth im trying to ignore. ppl dont fuckin know the truth. im holding on to a false idea that id like to believe ppl to be smarter..deathboy
    • smarter might not be the word though. more honest with themselves, more instinctive, more independent of thoughtdeathboy
    • on that note set you are correct this is what it is aboutdeathboy
    • sorry set a bit abstract. this communication is about understanding. not internal but external. to challenge beliefs and see who folds, see triggers, see whatdeathboy
    • ppl can see. To challenge something and see how they respond with their views of the scenarios. do they try reason or insult, or deflectiondeathboy
    • also about learnin about your own communication. perhaps if ill break it downdeathboy
    • third sentence calls buddy awesome, while only giving evidence of being special, we can ignore his occupation and name.deathboy
    • than, the boy says catch phrases which makes me feel better about my life (not explained) and i feel good knowing he will do anything for me.deathboy
    • he has no cognizant skills to recognize me on the phone as others but recognizes me in person. best person ever for the values i highlighted.deathboy
    • to recap values being ( serve me, make me feel good about my life) and this is what ppl upvote... unless i misunderstood something. but that would be on imbecildeathboy
    • or are we gonna trump this and say we meant something completely else?deathboy
    • i believe imbecile and others simply saw the responsive triggers but lacked full comprehension of the meaning of this instancedeathboy
    • its not bad, its simple a mistake. it means nothing on your self identity. Not like haha you were wrong once u suck. why wont ppl admit when they are lostdeathboy
    • Man shut the fuck up, it's better for everyone.set
    • yeah, you missed the pointmonospaced
    • was the point to ignore the truth of it and ride the positive waves? no thx. I live simply and truthfully even if it doesn't make things easier for anyonedeathboy
    • considering there is no attempt at alternative explanation of meaning from breakdown Ill take it as simple denial. shrug and shake my head a littledeathboy
    • but sorry. i get no pleasure from shitting on parades. ill go back to my holedeathboy
    • he isn't ignoring any truth, he's saying he appreciates a guy that adds positivity to his experiencemonospaced
    • I don't know why you only see negativity here. Read his last two sentences if you want to see the point.monospaced
    • mono... the last two sentences describe the emotion. not the cause... a racist might have the same two last sentences watching his retard son spit on a spicdeathboy
    • but thank you. it helps me understand what you focus on. i assumed as much, but nice to see it. no one else even tried framing any of it as positivedeathboy
    • not even the author. PR 101, no comment.deathboy
    • really, you're attacking me?monospaced
    • Deathboy is one of those stupid intellectuals. Lots of words and focus and reasoning but it's all utter time wasting toshset
    • damnmonospaced
    • huh i was thanking u mono? set check your oxy moron. but i will agree on the outcome is a waste of time. unless u think of it as practicedeathboy
    • practice to not fall into a sort of group think. to challenge to test. as much as id like to be doing it for you, its really totally selfishdeathboy
    • exercise. oxymoron is probably framed around the idea there is no value gained. but you are missing the bigger picture.deathboy
    • but because its a waste of time, thats still no argument to say I am wrong in what I've saiddeathboy
    • and for shits and giggles set you can look through history and see how human denial is incredible. germans who really believed in the socialist nazi party whodeathboy
    • refuse to accept they supported something so terrible. they only wanted something good and went with the positive vibes.deathboy
    • in the larger picture the blatant lack of comprehension and focus on emotion strikes me as spooky. so where in this instance its pointless im looking broaderdeathboy
    • clearly mono was the only person who stated the "evidence" of it being good not just positive. Would u say that evidence holds up?deathboy
    • i have this feeling set u agree with me but wont say it. might be only my impression of set as the cunt though. if u agree be the cunt again unless u forgot howdeathboy
    • don't accuse me of group think ... this brought a smile to my face, because I got the point of it, and I commented firstmonospaced
    • What in the utter living fuck are you even on about?set
    • eh... its all shit set. i dont know how to say what im trying to say in the shorthand comments any better. need essay format. u get it. or u dont. fuck it.deathboy
    • and mono i might not know the terms, but there is a simple associative pattern to the post. a pattern that is effective to herds. a pattern very similiardeathboy
    • to trump speak. u got the feel good vibes of it but missed the message. and my group think ref was more a combo of people falling into that LCD trapdeathboy
    • and as humans and animals are conditioned the like system help led others into the trap, a group think. we are all most in advertisin fields so we all understdeathboy
    • and the nature and psychology of like systems. how the reward systems are very much to calculated slot machine programming. and from there its a snowball effectdeathboy
    • and to question the original msg content from a "negative" perspective closes off minds... this place was better culturally before a like system... tangent i kndeathboy
    • ow but at the same time its all connecteddeathboy
    • Sorry deathboy. I can't agree with you. If I do, then it's becomes group think.pango
    • Do you not realise you simply killed the mice, positive, happy vibe of this post? Sometimes you need to be intelligent enough to know when to stfuset
    • yes set i realize it fully. that is the whole point. im calling out this "false positive" post to show it really isnt positive walked through the reason and alldeathboy
    • i dont know how i can explain it any simpler... i get your point but you apparently cant get my point...can lead a horse but cant get them to drinkdeathboy
    • u and mono focused on the intended "vibe" but not the meaning of it. ... sometimes i dont think some people are physically capable of thinking other waysdeathboy
    • i cant dunk, why should i expect everyone to slam dunk mentally. its either my fault in explaining or yours in comprehending and i dont see a solutiondeathboy
    • you dont try. says plenty. i think i can sleep easily knowing i did what i could here. the\ rest is up to the participantsdeathboy
    • and pango u missed the point of associative patterns and group think was talking about. i get it u were trying to be funny... when it comes stuff like this imdeathboy
    • plain business simply because i believe heavily in ppl needing to be able to detect bullshit in order to maintain individual freedom, even in something as simpldeathboy
    • as this, and as simple it it is its even scaryier,. to think the same trump method could be used to sway this demodeathboy
    • just call me stupid. leave feeling superior and all emo positive vibes it give, but humor me and really think about what im trying to say. not even to agree butdeathboy
    • simply to understand. the way we fakely ask other cultures to understand but this time for real. clearly im not stupid, crazy, religious, so what am i tryingdeathboy
    • to say you dont get. set was kind enough to say i was intellectual, deems some sense of intellect. there is no reason to shove my words aside. none even givendeathboy
    • u ever read socrates death? this feels similiardeathboy
    • Amazing that a feel-good post about being touched by the fact someone with disabilities is happy and kind has generated 94 fucking notes. Most of them idiotic.Continuity
    • holy shit. the notes are still going on.pango
    • Sorry, you actually not only missed the point of the original post, deathboy, you've gone on and on misinterpreting it with your negative view of the world.monospaced
    • Please stop telling people they have no right to understand the post as it was intended, or that they're wrong in sharing the good feelings.monospaced
    • You're not being intellectual. You're being rude and condescending.monospaced
    • You seem to think that the only thing about a special needs person that anyone should consider is that they're disabled and that their person ends there. F thatmonospaced
    • mono... i got the authors point. you dont get mine. u fail/succeed in not even trying to provide reason for your accusation to my intent.... take your lastdeathboy
    • post and phrase it with something i said that give merit to your accusation. its hard to take any position you take seriously without substancedeathboy
    • dont u know how reason works? debate, logic and what Id like to think of as common sense? or maybe u just familiar with logical falliciesdeathboy
    • and hope you mostly deal with people who know no betterdeathboy
