I recieved news this morning that my estranged father is in a coma in the hospital and his prognosis doesn't look good. The man who raised me died years ago and so did another man that was instrumental force in my life. My feelings about this recent news are cloudy and complicated. I've always felt fatherless but adopted and raised by other kind men that never really owed me anything. They made sure I never missed out on certain experiences a father would provide. I'm sad that I could never reconnect with the man who made me, but he was involved in a cult for most of my life. I tried for a relationship but it always came with a heavy helping of religion as a condition and I can't tolerate that. I always left the door ajar just in case he got out, but that door was closed as soon as I got the call.
I'm taking the rest of the afternoon off.

My advice - he hasn't given you the life you required so don't honour him in his ...mugwart - ... need. No God, no matter how real or false would take a father away from a sibling. It was a choice he made.mugwart
