As much as I love the production value I can't help but hate the way the show has gone.

It started off in an abstract way showing human history has always been horrific and brutal, I took it as a modern portrayal of royals and politics. Upper class, lower class, male and female, old and young. Its been fucking brutal. Life is short and normally ends in a brutal but brief ending. Lovely stuff.

Since they ran out of books to adapt and going on their own they seem to be adapting the stories to political correction. Its pure man hating now. Arias nod to the woman. The small north queen (great character) standing up to the old male rule. Etc.
I love all the characters but writing in what pleases the masses throws the audience back into the real world, which to be fair isn't the reason they are watching this. It also dulls the characters.

The dragon queen now I just want Brandon stark to take over a dragon and bite her in half.... She not interesting... None are, I mean that army were fucking bad arse now they are dull and lifeless.

    I'm having a rant!

    • yup, been saying it for a while. I just hope Martin finishes his books in a totally different manner and they'll have to re shoot the last two or 3 seasons._niko
    • just look at the dialogue alone, Tyrion was absolutely brilliantly written the first seasons, now he barely mumbles and just broods._niko
    • actually all of the characters are just caricatures of themselves empty vessels.
5, 10 or even 100 hack tv writers can't equal one George RR Martin

    • yeah I agree. Its a great shame and its Martin's fault for taking his sweet time!mugwart

    • its the most popular show on hbo, not some local play on an underground theater my guess is that it was born to please the massesMiguex
    • its kinda like calling out beyonce, bassnectar or black eyed peas for being commercial lolMiguex
    • The books are pretty lame to begin with, I think they're doing a great job of moving the story ahead and using the TV medium to show action.zarkonite
