I bought a Switch on my trip to Japan. I'm playing Zelda but barely started.
- Are consoles not regionalised these days? I didn't realise. Was it any cheaper?detritus
- Consoles aren't region-locked, publishers can make the games locked though but almost all are region-free inc. Switch.face_melter

- Not for a long time. Now they have internal power units that can operate on different voltages. You only need to change the power cable.face_melter
- The Wii was the only one which was region locked because... Nintendo. But the Switch is their first genuine region-free machine if I remember correctly.face_melter
- Switch, PS4 and Xbox One are region free. The power plug works globally you only need to use an adapter for the plug.ernexbcn

- Retail price of it in Japan is cheaper than here plus you don't pay the 8% tax for being a tourist.ernexbcn
- But it's sold out everywhere, if it weren't for me winning that raffle I wouldn't had been able to find one sitting on a shelve I'm sure.ernexbcn
