The ITER fusion project costs around $15Bn.

Apple reputedly has $250Bn in cash reserves.

They could do 5 ITERs without even breaking a sweat.

And ITER's like 15 small fusion projects worth of investment, so 75 fusion projects worth.

A single company potentially has the capacity to solve the world's energy problems, and given that energy is The Most Important thing — most of the world's problems.

    Or Alphabet. Or LockheedMartin, etc.

    • Didn't Apple build massive solar and wind farms?monospaced
    • instead, once ITER is full functional funded by public institutions, it's the energy industries who are gonna make $.uan

    • It's still experimental and theoretical, and they don't even plan to go live until 2035.monospaced
    • Why? Because there's no money in it for the Saudis and all the politicians, bankers and businessmen sucking he dicks of the saudis._niko
    • And if they're not sucking the dicks of the Saudis, then they're not creating conflict in the Middle East to keep their war machines going._niko
    • Free energy will collapse the rotten house of cards of the industrial military complex, and all the diseased rats profiting from it._niko
    • Man I'm getting old and cynical and cranky lol_niko
    • Plus I'm talking out of my ass since I just realized we don't actually burn oil for electricity and I sound like a raving lunatic lol._niko
    • I'll just be in the corner with my foil hat on, don't mind me. :)_niko
    • it still made sense _nikofadein11
    • ... free energy ... at this point, the ITER produces less energy than goes into it at millions of $$$ ... we'd be better off riding stationary bikesmonospaced
