I barely use my landline, having one solely for broadband access.

Just checked my bank and was a but stunned to see it being £50 more than normal, so logged in to check.

Difference is primarily made up by two phonecalls to Europe, each less than half an hour.

    £40.

Forty. Fucking. Pounds. To send [what I think is, having just worked out] 19Mb of data within Europe, from a fixed subscription, not roaming or anything.

    I fucking hate BT.

    • What do you think phonelines use? It's been decades since switches and direct connections. I assumed a 64kilobit per second ratedetritus
    • ah so you are talking about a straight phonecall - I got confused as you mentioned data used in the call. Yep avoid landlines for europe at all costs - mobilefadein11
