Reason just became the best DAW imo. Especially if you like patching and creating your own modular synths n sounds.

    • I used to use it all the time but it doesn't compare to Logic. Okay to use within Logic though.fadein11
    • I used to love reason.. but then i got ableton.. and realised how much i was missingautoflavour
    • well, not entirely, i was running reason in protools for ages.. but it was just so slowautoflavour
    • reason has always been my favourite tool. well designed, intuitive, great sounds.hans_glib
    • the sound it produces isn't good enough imho. and the built in fx are weak compared to logicfadein11
    • I always found whatever I produced in Reason sounded like it was made in Reasonautoflavour
    • each to their own i guess. i love reason's ability to import sounds and use them easily. logic is sooo fucking complex, tho obviously essential for live instrumhans_glib
    • @auto - exactly. its a plugin for a pro DAW like Logic - I know people make whole tracks on it but I couldn'tfadein11
    • that being said the modular nature of it is loads of fun and has big creative potentialfadein11
    • The whole DAW debate is like MAC vs PC though - pointless isn't it. If you make good shit and enjoy using a prog then that's all that matters. I just know whenfadein11
    • I jumped from Reason to Logic that's when I started doing my best stuff.fadein11
    • i was using protools, logic and reason.. then i installed ableton and to be honest, i havent looked back.autoflavour
    • i do kind of miss the all in the box thing about reason.. it was good for on the road productionautoflavour
    • tried ableton and I didn't get on with it - I prefer the traditional interface (I started on Atari ST with Creator then Cubase)fadein11
    • I'm an old luddite.fadein11
    • Gonna take a hard look at Reason now. I use to think Logic sounded better than Fruity Loops (which it did), but FL sounds good now.section_014
    • Reason is like walking into an empty studio with an unlimited budget.inteliboy
    • Though I still love both Logic and Live. Agreed, very much a boring PC vs Mac debate.inteliboy
    • Professionally, with people standing around wanting mixing/recording/mas... - Logic or Pro Tools is obviously the way to go, no question.inteliboy
    • yep. reason does a part of the job and will rarely lead to releasable demos.fadein11
