Hans_Glib, how are you finding the 0-Coast?

With our first child popping out a couple of weeks ago I thought it sensible to sell all the eurorack gear I was collating. Had spent over a grand and just had a few drum modules, sampler and a reverb. Lot of money for not much clout and saw ahead of me having to spend another grand or so to get something workable for making 'music'. It was silly to enter the rabbithole.

I've got Reaktor for deep patching but really fancy something sofa-noodlable and the o-coast fits nicely I reckon. Perfect for playing with when meant to be looking after our wee girl too ;)

    • Check out the Kilpatrick Phenol too. A bit more money, but I rate it a bit better than the 0Coastsection_014
    • Only problem is it's bananas, so no direct-to-eurorack patching.section_014
    • yeah that's what put me off the phenol - shitty pots as well, by all accounts. i loved the fact that it had two vcos, but...hans_glib
    • no regrets on the 0-coast - it's fucking bonkers. so much to explore in such a tiny little machine. one minute it's all sounding quite lyrical and lovely, thenhans_glib
    • moments later you plunge into all manner of sonic chaos. and it's easy to use the slope to act as a second vco, with the fundamental triangle wave bringing up thans_glib
    • the rear as a sub octave effect. or just patch them together in a self-generating hell. fed into my old boss rack effects (comp to keep the dynamics under...hans_glib
    • control, 2 second delay and reverb) you can generate an astonishing wall of sound.
all in all, an excellent buy.
