Universal Audio release OTO Biscuit

Pretty pricey. Mind you the original harware was pricey itself.
Bit puzzled as to what UAD-2 hardware is though?
I take it you have to have UA's equipment to run this plugin?- yup, need a UAD-2 box, their pricing is nuts but there's deals and bundles if you look around.kingsteven
- still the best sounding plugins around but think they'll need to sort it out with slate/waves/eventide going subscriptionkingsteven
- ah i see what it is now. the box takes all audio processing burdons away from comp.
Do you install all plugins on this box? or in comp?microkorg - it's stored on your hard drive but runs on the box & you can stack the boxes for more plugins... all the plugins are in the software as 30 day trials...kingsteven
- ...and thats how they get you...kingsteven
- seems like a super expensive system, they'd have more take up with a clearer free system.fruitsalad
- 'fee' not free, thought that would be generous of them.fruitsalad
- @fruitsald - it's aimed at the pro marketfadein11
- I've almost been sucked into the UAD thing a few times. Shit like a culture vulture or massive passive for a fraction of the price.section_014
- Ultimately, most reviews/forums say it's not quite there.section_014
- same but started working with a couple of producers and in studios with UAD and got fed up bouncing to move sessions about...kingsteven
- but i have to say, i have a couple waves bundles and it's shocking how poor they sound in comparison. it's new folks like slate and soundradix in competition.kingsteven
- Waves mostly sucks, but their API series is nice, imo. I use the 2500 and 560 all the time. 2500 is great on guitars.section_014
- Man, you've got to try the UAD 2500, couldn't believe it... haven't opened the Waves since. Still use J37, varispeed and plate a lot...kingsteven
