one of those dog-things at the end, possibly with 6 legs (for insect-like movement and redundancy), armour-protected and armed.. will scare the living shit out of any right-thinking human.
Sure, Hoth-like 'harpoons and tow cables' might be a good defence, but something like that, in a military context, might be easily producible within the next 15 years.
What then?
