The fact that he refuses to release them even now, when he has nothing to lose politically and we are years from the next campaign, tells you there is something in there that the public should know.
It also sets a very bad precedent because now all future candidates can simply say "Trump didn't release taxes" and we will never find out about conflicts of interests.
