Overbridge support"Compact, rugged and to the point. Digitakt is a formidable drum machine. With an astounding feature set and an exquisite digital sound engine, the stage is set for a striking encounter.
Rhythm is a fundamental part of music. Off-kilter beats, four on the floor workouts, polyrhythmic excursions all serve the same purpose. They provide musical structure and sometimes they even make us dance.
Digitakt is a new compact drum machine from Elektron. It contains all the necessary tools to make people move to the beat. A digital and highly flexible sound engine, sampling capability, a live-friendly sequencer, the means to control external MIDI gear. Round it off with a super crisp OLED screen and wonderfully tactile back-lit buttons. Done deal.
Drum machines are something of an Elektron speciality. With the Digitakt we show why."
- An Elektron spokesperson says that the price will be around $600 and that they are aiming to release it in April.kingsteven

- Can't wait for the incoming video demosprophetone
- they only had one there, and it was under glass, looks about as big as the analog heat and solid.keewee
- Pretty cool little box. Don't think its anough to annoy the OT owners but it is enough to annoy RYTM owners as it CAN sample and CAN do midi out.microkorg
- yet another drum machine... all you need is a few drum samples stuck into logic/ableton/renois... etc and then play with fx's.fruitsalad
- melody and harmony these are the things electronic musicians need to focus more on. 99% of electronic music is musically inept, same old chords, harmonies andfruitsalad
- and melodies. Sonically electronic music is in the right place, but after 1min my brain gets bored of the unsurprising lame melody/harmonic constructions.fruitsalad
- i would suggest you find the 'making dittys' thread old man.kingsteven
- i agree with the 99% but some of the most interesting electronic music is born of musical ineptitude and limited hardware...kingsteven
- whilst thats true to a degree fruitsalad, having hardware makes most people be more creative than sitting in front of computer.microkorg
- yeah i dont see the Rytm users that annoyed.. to be honest, i am underwhelmed by this release.. seems like they are breaking free of the boutique marketautoflavour
- midi out on Rytm would be good.. but i dont see it as a deal breaker.. analog kick drums, that is definitely lustautoflavour
