Here's a video of Ben Carson, a fuckin doctor, arguing that some people go into prison straight and come out gay and therefore homosexuality is a choice!
Can somebody get this guy a cabinet position??!?!
- he is right though it is a choice. all things we do are our own choices. perhaps what you have a problem is on what he deems a correct choice?deathboy
- But do you think there is much difference between his problem with man on man vs ms obama on soda and sugary snacks?deathboy
- ^ are you for real?fadein11
- What always gets me is the principle ppl miss and only the issues they focus on. The principle of enforcing views that restrict private behaviordeathboy
- remember fadein how ms o feels about the evils of sugary fats is likely the same as some christian right probably feels about gays. both think theyre rightdeathboy
- and i'm grouping choice from conditional behavioring vs biological predisposition. you have to see it from his view, and see his error i forcing his beliefsdeathboy
- from his perspectives that make him feel comfortabledeathboy
- side thought..the biggest error in the gay pride movement was they tried to get special privileges provided to others. they should have advocated for the removadeathboy
- l of special privileges provided to heterosexual couples. removing marriage and state. bringing marriage back to a social contract amongst anyonedeathboy
- hell even anything. let someone marry a fuckin horse or a tack hammer if they want. they really botched their chance for positive changedeathboy
- homosexuality, bisexuality, etc is not a mere choice. end of storymonospaced
- I kind of agree better to get the state out of it but realistically that was never going to happen.yuekit
- id like to hear your reason to back that statement up mono. a little metaphysics and coffee for a jumpstartdeathboy
- and yuekit yea probably not because the argument wouldn't have been as emotional. it would simply be a fight for tax changesdeathboy
- less about tribal identities and associations and venting repressed anger at gov marginalizations and special interests of identities. be no drama for newsdeathboy
- Of course it isn't a choice. If you're straight, did you choose to find the opposite sex attractive? Small brains unite.set
- explain set. if you never had man action or attraction until prison, were you gay? what about same sex ppl who dont identify as homosexual?deathboy
- if its just sex and not attraction is it different? are homo pedos just being what they are or choosing to act on biological predispositionsdeathboy
- are we talking actions or how we choose to label ourselves. is my label more correct than someone else's label of me. how do labels change our ideas of ID.deathboy
- :/inteliboy
- ... no metaphysics fun :(deathboy
- deathboy chooses to be straight every daysarahfailin
- deathboy, you'd be hard pressed to find ANY respectable evidence to back up your stance, and an overwhelming amount for minemonospaced
- where is the reason for your statement mono? lets start there. that's how rational discourse works. you stated your position now explain why and see if its truedeathboy
- lets test it, lets test it against carson's scenario. does it work if the man only had sex in prison? does it work if the man doesn't identify as a homosexual?deathboy
- and sarah i dont think really think of my sexual preferences as part of my identity. i dont identify as being straight, as much as i dont identify as an artistdeathboy
- to me identity is fleeting moment in time. but if condition was no man action as straight than yes id fit your labeldeathboy
- but all of this is me slipping from the main point. carson believes its a choice and he doesnt like peoples choices that dont effect himdeathboy
- ms obama doesn't like the choices of kids and snacks and set to stop there choices. why are ppl hypocritical when fighting for freedoms on party linesdeathboy
