i bought a bunch of fence boards, and after a few days several of 'em look like this:

i guess they steamed 'em or something to make 'em straight enough to sell? then after drying at home their true shape is revealed. pretty messed up.

    thanks, home derpot

    • this thing is bent to the left, too– it's not just curled up, it's not even straight. and they were stored flat!scarabin
    • gather the shitty ones and bring them back?PonyBoy
    • lay them down flat, put some weight on them, wet them a little.moIdero
    • when it rains i feel like they'd just bend right back.

i'm too lazy to return 'em... just gonna marvel at it and not buy any more cheap wood

    • i hate returning shitmoIdero
    • can you do the re-wet / flatten thing and then be sure to nail that shit in place quickly so it'll hold it's new shape? where's Terry? He'd have a solution...PonyBoy
    • it's no big deal, just a cheap lesson in what not to use. it's funnier than it is aggravating :)scarabin
    • curious though if i got a bad batch or if when fencing a certain percentage of boards should be expected to be unuseablescarabin
    • that's green lumber need to store properly or use. there usually some cull though. less if used quickly. dont forget to store with stickersdeathboy
    • Make a curved fence!face_melter
    • what deathboy said. if it gets direct sunlight while still wet they will bow and crown. make sure the pt you buy is also kdterry_cloth
    • Told ya... Terry's got this!
      :)
(As you can see I had no fucking clue what I was talking about) hehe
