it's basically a more advanced new version of sim-city, and i think i'm the only one obsessed with this game here :)

    • I've tried it, but I don't have the patience to invest the time to play it properly. I just want to watch things burn.face_melter
    • Can you import GIS data into Skylines? And if you can, can you export geometry out from it?face_melter
    • I ask because I'm guessing that's how this maniac managed to accurately model an entire city - it could be helpful in my line of work.face_melter
    • you can make your citizens suffer in various ways :) but it can only import basic data like height map. no tricks it's pure building :)sted
    • https://www.youtube.…sted
    • After a bit of further reading, it seems you can import optimised .fbx files - which could potentially work very well for me.face_melter
    • but that's just for individual buildings right?sted
    • I love this game. Played it for months.monospaced
    • Don't see why it can't be for blocks of buildings / geometry. Bringing in a city block as one object is the same as a single building.face_melter
    • As long as the UV maps and textures were correct, it *should* work. May give it a test at home - I have a large portion of central Stockholm in 3D.face_melter
    • Hahhha, oh fuck. It's 75% off on Steam just now.face_melter
    • you can't custom design blocks of buildingsmonospaced
    • ... you know paradox is located in södermalm too right? go talk to them about your idea, they're coolArchitectofFate
    • CityEngine does exactly what I'm describing on a professional level - i'm just fannying about out of sheer curiosity to see if it will work.face_melter
    • Because if I can destroy Östermalm with an asteroid, I will.face_melter
