Here's a good question: does anyone think that not voting in this election is good or bad? I don't have an opinion on it really, but the thought crosses my mind simply because we aren't required to vote. If a complete dislike of all major party candidates exists, and a third party vote is a waste, in some ways I feel like it sends a message that both parties need to change dramatically.

Like I said, not sure exactly where I sit on this one, but I think about it often.

    • true but ironic also as I think this election will have a huge turnout.fadein11
    • i you do not vote, you're even more screwed.ApeRobot
    • It's almost like a no-vote is a boycott "vote"Krassy
    • I think not voting is simply seen as apathy. is there a "none of the above" option in the usa?Gnash
    • and if enough people boycott by not voting, there should be a threshold number where elections need a do over with new (better qualified) candidatesKrassy
    • 3rd party votes are not a waste. That's a sad smear of democracy. They still need 5% to get campaign dollars for 2020.omg
    • "the election is rigged" - Tutopian
    • ("but not if I win" - T)monospaced
    • I would say it depends on which state you are registered to vote. Swing state - vote. Heavy red/blue then idk...whatthefunk
    • @whatthefunk he's asking "If a complete dislike of all major party candidates exists"Krassy
    • ..and not if a vote for his choice would make a difference (in a swing or not state)Krassy
    • Precisely. I feel like low turnout via many not voting sends a message that both parties need to get it together.mg33
    • And it avoids the "lesser of two evils" logic which is often really not the right way to vote.mg33
    • If H wins, move out of the states.yurimon
    • I can't yurimon. My passport is expired ATM.mg33

    • Understood, I think it's bad in swing state to not vote and not sure what message would be sent anyway...whatthefunk
    • There is a very high percentage of eligible voters that don't vote. 45% or something like that. its pretty bad.sofakingback
    • "Don't vote!" ~ Yurimomg.moldero
    • Mainstream media is making you think Donald is telling people "not to vote". He's never said that. It's constructed from his statements on "rigging" elections.omg
