Go for the reasonably priced seafood tapas in Jai-Ca in the Barceloneta district. Usually packed with locals, always a good sign. On the corner of Calle Ginebra and some other street I forgot.
I sent numerous QBN'rs to Jai-Ca over the years, feedback was always great.
Barceloneta beach is ok-ish, but the ones past Marina (the twin tall buildings) are nicer, also much cleaner.
Sit in front of MACBA in the evening, a very relaxed, social place, with kids skating in front of the museum, people sipping beers and smoking whatever.
Watch out for the pickpockets everywhere you go.
Have fun!
