Right as I finished posting the Chumlee post below I get another text from my brother. Chum was gone from the table by then... but HOLY SHIT he should have stayed...
My brother just LOST a hand while holding 4 of a kind (four 4's). He lost to a larger 4 of a kind (four 6's). Most casinos have a cumulative JACKPOT in their poker rooms for such an occasion.
The way it works at this casino is the LOSING hand gets just about 50% of the Jackpot. The Winner of the hand gets 20% and the other 30% goes to whomever is sitting at that table and playing in that hand.
My brother's cut: $36,000
(seriously... my brother just lost a hand of poker but won $36K doing so) :D
