"I am sad to say that there have been numerous camera thefts today. At least $60k worth of gear at 3 different incidents. And a large Canon lens (like the one I am taking now to opening ceremonies) was stolen from a photographer at my hotel this morning at breakfast. He looked away for a second and it was taken. This makes my heart rate go way up. So sad."
"Oh good lord. I just heard from another photographer friend that another camera bag was stolen from within the photographer's area here at opening ceremonies. We are all trying to secure our bags for when the lights go down.
