^ Here's what the mother has to say. (Not that Trump cares. But you should.)

This whole thing would've been a relatively easy thing to respond to for most politicians. They can apologize, politely acknowledge this family's sacrifice, and continue on with your campaign.

But Trump is incapable of humility. He's the arrogant old man at the pub who flat out refuses to admit when he's wrong. He's the guy who tries to talk over everyone, never conceding. He does and says whatever he feels to protect his ego, above all else. That characteristic is probably very useful if you're involved in the corrupt, shady world of New York real estate.

But, I want you to think about how important it is for a head of state to be able to set aside their own ego for the sake of the bigger picture. To be able to empathize with other points of view, and to accept other's views as valid, even if you disagree.

A president needs to be able to listen and learn. To adapt. To be a diplomat. Trump is proving, again and again, that his ego is too important to him.

He is the smallest of men.

He's of such poor character that he publicly and intentionally attacked the family of fallen US Soldier rather than let his ego be hurt. This type of thing could destroy any political campaign. Of course, Trump has only learned that he will not be held accountable for what he says. His supporters have taught him that. He's a spoiled child, and his supporters and the GOP are the bad parents who refuse to discipline him.

Trump is an embarrassment to himself. The fact that he's a presidential candidate is an embarrassment to all Americans.

If you disagree with that last sentence, imagine the old man at the pub, shouting ignorant things that he knows nothing about. He often does not realize until much later that he should have been embarrassed.

    • For clarity: I wrote the text. If you want to read the mother's words you need to click on that WashPost link.nb
    • The mother only said "Donald Trump said that maybe I wasn’t allowed to say anything. That is not true."omg
    • The rest are prolonged by thoughts, critics, and opinions of everyone else to demonize their opposition.omg
    • Which is scary because 99.9% of what we know about Trump are fabrications created by the media.omg
    • Clarity: my post isn't about the mother's comments. My post is about Trump's reaction to the initial speech and his narcissistic personality disorder.nb
    • In hindsight, I should've made a separate post for the Ghazala Khan's comments.nb
    • Not trying to support behind any presidential nominee. Its been too obvious how the media can intensify an idea beyond its original intention.omg
    • he is an alpha male on steroids as personality. the narcissism is same as current administration or his opponent candidate. just because other lie or maskyurimon
    • whats on their mind doesnt make it any different.yurimon
    • Trump's reaction was a call for Trump to reflect upon his own sacrifices he defined as his own positive contributions to society.omg
    • but i totally agree that Trump may lack humility which would improve his responses to sensitive issues in family matters, race and religion.omg
    • Yes, agree he seems to handle it off the cuff which makes for him not thinking before speaking. But you can say the exact same thingrobotron3k
    • about Hilary's or Obama's lack of sacrifice. They are pro politicos. The fact is, whether he was a Muslim, Christian, Atheist, human life hasrobotron3k
    • value. It is sad when ANY military personnel die, and honestly a Muslim military death has the same value as all military deaths.robotron3k
    • I don't think this family is any different, but they were propped up by the Dems for the DNC. They were effectively used for sure.robotron3k
    • He could have handled it way different and flipped the script if he was smart.robotron3k
    • I criticize trump for this and I'm labeled a rape apologist and a racist by yuri somehow. You post it and yuri doesn't get triggered. No idea.monospaced
    • Anyway. I agree. Trump is a complete embarrassment and anyone supporting him should be just as embarrassed. Nicely written nb. +1monospaced

    • Are Muslims not supposed to say anything when someone running for President is proposing to ban them from the country?yuekit
    • I guess just they should STFU and let Trump carry out his half-assed plan to ban 1/4 of the world which he obviously came up with in 5 minutes.yuekit
    • nobody wants to deport already legal people. dont get your virtue panties in a bunch.yurimon
    • if a water hole is poisoned, you stop the flow, salvage all the good water that you have, fix it before you turn back on again for high quality H2O.omg
    • Sure let's keep pretending it's a sane and realistic plan to ban people based on religion, which you can't even determine.yuekit
    • It's the kind of policy a child would come up with, but you have people like yurimon defending it because Trump said so.yuekit
    • The level of mass ignorance out there is actually much scarier than Trump himself.yuekit
    • yupmonospaced
    • ^ one right tharyurimon
    • he was referring to trump and his people yuri, of which I am not onemonospaced
    • If you want to attack someone, attack the person who personally insulted you, not me for agreeing. You are so weird.monospaced
