Another thing I wish someone told me at the start is project management - breaking the shit down into small chunks.
If you start to get the coding bug defiantly go "agile", nerd talk for shopping lists. I use this one for personal projects:
Keeps you from going insane and keeps your goal/s in sight.

I used to work for a really disorganised company - they didn't care for code, just make it look "pretty"....mugwart - ... consequently many projects fell foul (I was a newb as well, not all fault was theirs ) but I learnt the value of breaking things down into chunksmugwart
- people can see it so know your working. it gives them understanding that there is a LOT going on behind the sense.
also for developer it keeps you sane.mugwart - cool thanks for the input. starting javascript on thursday. CSS has so much to it damn! I wish I had two months of classes.oey
- instead just one. starting my personal projects to keep it up. and also know some people who would like to have a not so complicated homepage. challenges! yay!oey
