i'm no carpenter, but i made some stuff outta wood over the weekend that i think turned out pretty well.

this is a flat-pack stage. the only fasteners involved are 12 screws in the base; everything else slots together.

i'm welding and sewing a projection screen for the back of it right now.

    • this is gonna find itself at burning man, isn't it?dopepope
    • yeah, which is why i'm making the screen frame out of steel. shit's gotta withstand 75mph winds and it's basically gonna be a big sailscarabin

    • i would be worried about the overhang around the perimeter of the base dealing with people's body weightterry_cloth
    • good job, scarabin!Krassy
    • Haha Terry, aye you've got a point...detritus
    • Is the base touching the ground completely flat? How does it deal with an unflat and unbuffered (like grass) surface?detritus
    • that overhang isn't under any stress. the inside of the platform is filled with supportsscarabin
    • detritus– good question; it doesn't seem to be affected by being on grass, and burning man is basically completely flatscarabin
    • The edges of the thin ply overhang on the sides where people step up and down are going to take a beatingterry_cloth
    • i'll keep an eye on itscarabin
