First of all, the name was hijacked from the "New Orleans Jazz" and Utah was too stupid to rename it to something more appropriate like the 'Pioneers' or something along those lines.

So, what did they do, they reverted their team back to the NO Jazz colors and Mardis Gras, IN FUCKING UTAH!!! LOL, but for history's sake, it's a better logo and color scheme.

    • this happens with many sports teams, not really something worth fretting overterry_cloth
    • it's a reboot, I agree. if you look at 1979 to 1996, I mean... LOL it's their classic logo. most teams are going back to their classicsdrake-von-drake
    • I didn't noticed it had changed between 1996 and 2016...oey
    • ^ Karl Malone, John Stockton, Jeff Hornacek era, which is even worse. WTF does a mountain have to do with Jazz?????drake-von-drake
    • If only Utah had mountains... it may make sense.ETM
    • They have plenty, but nothing to do with the name Jazz. I don't get it.drake-von-drake
    • You are such a jackass. They didn't hijack the name. The franchise relocated.severian
    • No shit sherlock, but most of the time the team mascot / name changes unless hyper classic like Dodgers, Lakers, Athletics. Jazz, in Utah? Dumb!drake-von-drake
    • Where are the all the lakes in LA?severian
    • At least in the modern era. North Stars > Stars, Browns > Ravens, Nordiques > Avalanche, Whalers > Hurricanes, Jets > Coyotes. Better branding in demography.drake-von-drake
    • It's up to the owner.severian
    • Expos > Nationals, Hornets > Pelicans, Bobcats > back to Hornetsdrake-von-drake
    • "Hijacked" was probably the wrong word to use, but you get the picturedrake-von-drake
    • Lakers, wasn't that Minneapolis or the like? I can't remember. Yes, ownership just being silly. Lack of vision and creativity imo.drake-von-drake
