This is how big that fire in northern Alberta is, compared to NYC. According to the Forestry department, it is now too big to put out. They say it can only be put out with rain.

There is no rain in the forecast for two full weeks from now.

    • Also, another major fire is spreading in Alberta and there are five more listed as "Out of Control".nb
    • Why is the shape overlaid on the cities different on every one? I don't get it.set
    • I'm not sure, but for all the Canadian cities, it gives a good sense of the size to people who live there. For example, it carefully outlines suburbs, etc.nb
    • I think the NYC one is not very good. Might be better if it covered the city. Likely the person who made the maps is Canadian.nb
    • this overly does cover NYCmonospaced
    • Yeah, but not very well.nb
    • Why go to Freeport when covering Staten and all of Brooklyn would have more impact to most people.nb
    • Regardless, the point is that there is a forest fire bigger than NYC that is currently spreading and uncontrollable!nb
    • "overly does"? smh.sarahfailin
    • "overlay," it's a typo, no need to be a dick about itmonospaced
    • I think the whole point of qbn is that you do thoroughly need to be a dick about itset
