^ Depends what type of guy you are. I personally love owning old cars as daily drivers... but you have to be cool with certain drawbacks.

I think the biggest draw back of the one you're showing is that its a nice rare-ish car, its on the cusp of being a classic. Which means parking it on the street will eventually bring some issues: getting hit, vandalized, weather wear, towed, etc

All of which will happen, its happened to my BMW and I just said fuck it, I rent a garage now.

The next thing to be mindful of is if you get that car, you're gonna be tempted to make it into a nice classic, which you should. If you do, now you're in a different situation. You have to baby it. No street parking, avoid crazy weather, needs a garage and you're gonna convince yourself you need a 2nd car ("just a daily beater I don't care about")

From what I can tell you want a 2002, so maybe heres what you do. Find a decently maintained but not pristine base model 2002. One that has ok paint and the owner cared enough to do maintenance. More than likely its gonna be a 1974 square light 2002, round lights are expensive even if they're beat. or you can get a 1975-83 BMW e21. These are not as valued but can be equally as cool and much much cheaper.

Either way the idea is to get one that will take a bit of a beating and it won't hurt you to actually use it. If the body is clean you can restore it later.

I currently daily drive a 1987 VW Golf GL, super basic car but I love it, I take it everywhere and I don't mind it getting banged up.

Before I restored my BMW I drove that everywhere and it was a blast, one weekend I drove it to San Felipe. Just cruising through the desert without a care in the world... now I would be terrified to do the same drive in the restored version.

P.S. how do they want for that touring?

    • yeah the drawback thing was basically what I tried to point out. Looking fucking cool with you and the dog man!mekk
