Actually I did just that. About 10 years ago when I realized I had the money to buy all the crap I didn't get as a kid that gold pan RC-10 was on the list. I got a mint one on eBay that had been built but never driven with a brand new Futuba controller.
When it came in the mail I looked it over with the same coveting eyes I had as a child, drove couple laps around my apartment, carefully put it back in the box, then up in the closet, and there it sat for a year til I decided it was taking up valuable space - and back on eBay it went. Whoopee!
