    I test drove a VW GLI today, which I was totally unfamiliar with and was pretty fun to drive. My wife and I are getting rid of our 2007 Passat soon, time for a new car. Not sure about the GLI, fully loaded it's comparable to a Passat, and the handling was great, but not sure. Good price on them though.

    Also test drove the premium-level 2017 Audi A4 and loved it. Comparable size to our Passat. Had CarPlay and was so teched out. I loved it. Been holding holding out for CarPlay to be available on more, so hopefully we go in that direction.

    • Ours potentially has an engine issue when accelerating hard. It's like the turbo kicks in and the engine knocks.mg33
    • Our driver xenon at $300 a swap and now not covered goes on in wet/cold and dead in nice weather, likely ballast... at $800 for oem part HAHAHAHAHAHAVAprophetone
    • So... next week we are taking it in to local car alarm etc place that's cool and they have either non orm ballasts at $100 or...prophetone
    • ... we can thro in a complete $140 HID kit with normal hid light swaps and it's own ballasts, for cheap.prophetone
    • The bigger issue is the engine which we had camera'd and it had bad carbon build up requiring a full tear apart to clean it all out properprophetone
    • And it seems to jump a bit when shifting now... not a good sign haha! Also the window washer fluid tank has a leak somewhere so never has any, annoying!prophetone
    • Time to spiff it up and get something fresh, I'm too old to put up with being stranded b/c of known probs haha, in 20s wouldn't have caredprophetone

    • It's less the issues and probably more wanting a new car. It's been great car. We just want something new, better features.mg33
