    Why shouldn't ex-convicts be allowed to vote? I mean, besides the obvious answer, "Because they're criminals!" That's not a strong enough argument for me.

    I honestly can not think of one solid rational argument why they would be banned from voting. It's not like they'll be able to vote their way to a pardon. Do you think they're all going to get together to vote to close all the prisons and defund the police so they can get back to murderin' and stealin'? If that's what you think, are you living in a cartoon?

    It seems to be that allowing ex-cons to vote would help them engage in free society, in what they may feel is a meaningful and productive manner.

    Maybe I'm wrong.
