For food, try Tallulah's on 19th ave on Capitol Hill (easy uber/cab ride if you're staying downtown). 15th ave also on Capitol Hill has great coffee, restaurants, bars (Liberty is great for cocktails, Hopvine good for beer nerds), and there's a retail weed shop right nearby.
It's also a nice walk from 15th Ave to Volunteer Park (which is great if it's not raining). The Asian Art Museum is there and usually has great exhibits.
