In my ongoing saga to understand how to connect an iOS device to Logic, and use as either a controller for instruments in Logic, or, to control apps with a separate MIDI controller, I came across the iRig MIDI 2 (someone might have suggested that a while back in a related question).

    Does anyone use it? http://www.ikmultimedia.com/prod…

If so, maybe you can answer these questions for me:

Am I correct that with it:
    1) I can connect an iOS device to use purely as a controller for instruments in Logic.
    2) I can use my existing MIDI keyboard, plugged into the computer, to control sounds in an iOS app, and output as audio.

Thanks for the feedback if you're familiar with this.

    • i've only done it a few of times but worked for me with a £10 miditech usb -> midi in/out cable and a lightning -> camera connector cable.kingsteven
    • Am I missing something? Logic comes with an app that enables an iPad to control it... Does that not work for you? I used to use it a lot and it worked great.fadein11
    • fadein, the Logic app only works one way, it won't control any iOS apps.keewee
    • and that Logic apps works over Wi-Fi. Can't remember if it can work wired.mg33
