I tend to think that an ideology can indeed be killed... as long as it's not founded on theology.
You can't fight faith...
...reasonability is out the door the minute someone doesn't mind dying and taking a few folks with them in the name of their God. Christians 'following orders' away at war are just as bad Muslims wrapping themselves in homemade TNT sweaters... doesn't matter who it is—if they think God is on their side—it's nearly impossible to reason with them.
