Damn.
I just went to my step-brother's home who has been an audiophile since the mid 70s. I've always known he was in to this but I really spent some time discovering his world this morning. He sat me down and played some jazz. I was blown away by the quality of the sound. I gotta say, I am hooked and have the bug to want to start a system. Now to convince the wife that this is a "need" not a "want".
He told me to start with:
A little phonostage
Buffer USB (schiit wired)
Schiit Loki Dac
Vacuum Tube Amp (he builds them and has a couple ready to go for me)He said speakers are going to be a very expensive part of this too. I don't care if it takes five years to build this system, I gotta do this.
