so i did some website work for this random guy who i met through a old coworker. His site needed to go live today. I spent long hours getting it done as he kept asking for changes that was never discussed in our agreement. I ended up charging an extra $200 and he agreed. 3 days ago i finished and told him usually i ask for full payment before making changes live, in his case i made them live so he could make his site live. he ended up telling me hes going to push the release of his site back a week so i had more time but he is thankful for me putting in the effort and getting it done in advance. He said instead of sending me my money he wanted me to go to his release party and collect the check then. I had prior engagements at 7pm, his shin dig was at 5pm one hour and 30 minutes out of my way, i went anyways. I drove 1hr 30min to his party and told him i cannot stay longer than 30minutes, he asked that i stay for his presentation I said ok. His presentation was 20minutes late, minutes before he did his presentation i was really forced to tell him i cannot stay because i must go, and asked him for payment.
he told me oh i forgot, darn shoot....walked off and did his presentation. I became a bit pissed off and due to the people blocking exits to fit everyone in the room i felt it would be too rude to leave as he was doing his speech so i quietly stayed and enjoyed his presentation and clapped along with everyone else. After he was done I walked up to shake his hand and as he did so i said "Congr.." to be interrupted by "yea yea i get it you have to go" , he released grip, turn and started talking to someone putting his back to me and doing all this with this attitude of a 15 year old kid. I tried to pull him aside to ask why the attitude but just walked the opposite direction ignoring me.
I left afterwards. I was late for my prior engagements, i drove almost three hours for a promised check only to receive attitude after all ive done for him.
the kicker is he told his attendees he is going to have me doing another site for him which was never discussed one on one but told 25+ people like the contract had already been agreed apon.
I don't know how i feel about this.
