    Harper isn't going anywhere...

    mini post-Canadian Election rant:

Canada DID NOT elect Justin Trudeau. Canada elected a representational parliament. This new GOVERNMENT is formed with a Liberal majority and with the Conservatives as opposition.

Am I right? i really dislike the whole idea that Trudeau is now the "leader" of Canada... i put it in quotes because i'm seeing comments on the net everywhere discussing this not specifically here. No different than Harper was ever the "leader", he acted like it, he wanted to be leader, he made many changes to try and protect his power, but he was never 'The Leader'.

If the new government acts on their pledge for electoral reforms that Prime Minister Trudeau has promised than this should be even more clear than it was. Welcome to democracy.

    • very true, but like it or not, the prime minister is the face of canada on the world stage.Julesvm
    • in short we elected a government not Trudeau.lodef
    • for better or for worse it's become obvious that canadians are voting for party leaders, not MPs.Julesvm
    • exactly they don't even know what they are voting forlodef
    • the elections are becoming a personality contest like the USA not about policy. personally I vote for the party with the best policies.lodef
    • Ya it's always a dilemma. Support the local MP. But the leader of their party is a douche.pango
